Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StaffSignal (staffsignal.io), operated by StaffSignal ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

StaffSignal provides staff-level system design interview preparation materials, including playbooks, practice drills, and progress tracking. Content is delivered digitally through our website.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. One account per person — shared or resold accounts will be terminated.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Free tier. Certain playbooks are available at no cost. No credit card is required for free access.

Pro subscription. The Pro plan provides access to the full playbook library and is billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) at the price displayed at the time of purchase.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your profile or billing portal. After cancellation, you retain access through the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period.

Price changes. We may change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Your next billing cycle after the notice period will reflect the new price. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

4. Intellectual Property

All playbook content, design, code, and branding on StaffSignal are our intellectual property or are used under license. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable license to read and use the materials for your own interview preparation.

You may not:

  • Copy, redistribute, or republish playbook content
  • Share your account or subscription with others
  • Use automated tools to scrape or download content
  • Resell or commercially exploit any part of the service

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Reverse-engineer any part of the platform

6. Content Disclaimer

StaffSignal provides educational preparation materials based on publicly known evaluation frameworks. We are an independent platform and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of any specific employer or hiring organization.

We do not guarantee any specific interview outcome. Performance in interviews depends on many factors beyond the scope of any preparation material.

7. Availability

We aim to keep StaffSignal available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime. We are not liable for any losses resulting from temporary unavailability.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StaffSignal and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to access paid content ends immediately (unless you have remaining time in a paid billing period).

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.
